Show and Tell: The New Sheridan Edition

Written by UI-Staff

The New Sheridan Hotel has been a great project to be a part of. It really has it all: the beautiful setting of Telluride Colorado, a great legacy, the history of the wild west, rich textures and patterns, the beautiful interior design finesse of Nina Campbell, and the branding by a wonderful group of people in Seattle known as Urban Influence. In this post Id like to walk through some of the highlights on this project.

The new New Sheridan logo (above) is an evolution of the old logo. We looked to the bold mining history of Telluride and the delicate elegance of the New Sheridan Hotel to create a new mark that is strong and luxurious.

One element that stands out in the New Sheridan Hotel experience is the variety of rich textures and attention to small details. These both played a large role in the components of the brand.

The New Sheridan business cards feature 4 different patterns with a custom diecut border. A sticker with elegant typography and personal message for each person has been hand applied to speak to the quality of detail and service they provide. This technique is carried over into the letterhead and envelopes.

COFFEE CUPS

Rich patterns are applied to coffee cups to create a beautiful product that has become a walking advertisement for the Hotel’s parlor, which is quickly becoming a Telluride favorite.

This invite allows the recipient to unfold the story and history of the New Sheridan while requesting their attendance at the grand re-opening.

The Chop House Menu system is done in a beautiful faux leather and is hit with a full bleed deboss of various patterns that you have to hold to truly get the full effect. If that wasn’t enough, the menu title and logo is foil stamped in metallic gold creating a one of kind experience that everyone can appreciate.

The owner of the New Sheridan Hotel enjoys hosting a poker night, we believe every poker night needs some branding so we created this custom Poker set for the New Sheridan Hotel. It features cards with an elegant black on black pattern and the New Sheridan Logo, New Sheridan Monogram on the poker chips, and a set in gold leaf logo on the walnut poker box case.

The New Sheridan Hotel has changed quite a bit since it first opened in 1891. The apparel celebrates this history by featuring the old hand painted signage that has been on the building for years and the new logo representing the past, present and beautiful future of this establishment.

Elegant patterns, beautiful typography, bold contrasts, and ornate details come together to bring the New Sheridan story to life in the interactive world.
