As I was driving downtown in Pioneer Square yesterday morning, I noticed they took out the stained glass window from the Elliott Bay bookstore entrance. This really got me thinking about the past inside there and all the wonderful stories, all the details, all the hours lost inside reading and wandering back and forth. It's really a huge change, that place has been a staple of the area for over 30 years. I've only been there a handful of times, but each time I've gone, I have gotten lost inside there for hours, reading pages of interesting books and studying every book jacket that catches my eye. I can only hope this new bookstore can capture the charm of the original. As you can see, this is not a long tribute by any means, but a tribute none-the-less. I salute you Elliott Bay bookstore, thanks for being a great friend.
The last day of business in Pioneer Square is March 31, make sure you get over there to experience it, if you haven't already.
