Whoa. This is some album. Enter Nick Cave's 1,600th album (not really), but it seems like he's been at it forever. This man is busier than Mike Patton with his musical output of late. That's not to say the quality is suffering at all though. This sequel to the first Grinderman builds on what they started, and for the best. The songs have that dirty feel and the lyrics are top notch. He can describe women like no other. I love the lyric "What has that husband of yours ever given to you? Oprah Winfrey on a plasma screen."
All in all the songs seem a tad slower and more encompassing than the last release, giving space for those wonderfully witty lyrics. Worm Tamer, Heathen Child, Ktichenette and the Palaces of Montezuma are my top favorites. I said hey lil' momo.
