I recently came across the contender for the number one position on my Christmas list: The Story of Eames Furniture. Over 15 years in the making, the collection of information and photography showcases the iconic furniture brand created by Charles and Ray Eames. Not only am I dying to get at the 800 pages and 2,500 images spread across two volumes, but the package itself looks quite wonderful. There is no doubt the impact the Eames and their designers had was monumental, and it is apparent still today. The great insight stems from the fact that both the author and designer, Marilyn Neuhart and her husband, John have in some way worked in the Eames Office since the 50s.
