You and Your Brand – Random Friday Musings

Written by UI-Staff

Look inward
Thoughtful brand experiences begin with a heaping dose of introspection, understanding the what and why of your company before the who and how of the market it's in.

Define purpose
Most companies were founded on greater ideals than simply paying the bills or meeting the bottom line. What are the values, passions and personalities behind the scenes that will ultimately lead to an authentic brand experience?

Understand the audience
Who truly needs and appreciates what your company does? Aligning with a smaller, more targetted audience will produce longer lasting customer relationships than playing the field. What does your audience experience every day of their life and what brands are meaningful to them? Truly define who your customer is and walk a mile in their shoes before trying to sell them something.

Stand for something
know what you do best and don't settle for less. Embrace your unique qualities and employ them in every facet of your organization. Brands are living, breathing consumer experiences, and any weak point in that experience will be met with discontent from your customer.

Be different by being yourself
Being different is one of the most over-rated plans for success in the industry. True differentiation does not come from blindly embracing concepts of change, but from a deep awareness of one's authenticity. By having the confidence to let your company embody it's truest self, authenticity can flourish.
