BMW

BMW pays tribute this year to one of the most amazing sports cars of the 1930s with this special edition car, the 328 Hommage. It’ll be revealed to the public at the iconic Mille Miglia race in Italy this year, where the original 328 will race once again.

The Hommage is such a hot looking car, with plenty of nods to the original throughout the design. It has been constructed out of reinforced carbon fiber plastic, which makes it lighter than aluminum. I can’t tell what those pale brown stripes on the front and hood are made of, but it looks great. The rims are fantastic and the main headlights give the car added personality. I love the front glass and rear-view mirror placement. And the driver’s seat is slightly more important than the passengers seat–superb. Any moments of asymmetry are welcome, like the one red light on the front grill, as I’ve always thought more carmakers should treat car designs that way. BMW has outdone themselves with the 328–the ultimate hommage machine.
