I just stumbled upon some awesome vintage space age illustrations, adorning the covers of old science and mechanic magazines, mostly from the middle of the last century. Not only are the illustrations great, but it’s fun to see how many of these things exist now, in some form or another. Unfortunately, a lot of the things that have happened aren’t quite as extravagant as pictured on these covers, especially the early imaginings of jet skis.

There are some, though that seem a little out of place, which may be a good thing; should we really be playing polo on water while riding around on mechanic horses? Either way, they are pretty fun to look at, and it’s interesting to think that things we see coming in our future may seem ridiculous in another 50 years.
