WoodTypeI’m a big fan of old wood type, and unfortunately while I have a decent collection at my disposal, they are mostly just scans of actual blocks, saved out in rasterized format. That’s why I couldn’t be more excited about stumbling across this site: Wood Type Revival! Not only are these available for an incredibly low price and as an actual font, but they are also available for use online through typekit!

As of right now, there are only four faces available – though that’s not much of a problem seeing as each one has it’s own, unique personality. There are also four new ones already on the horizon as well. For those that love the old distressed, real-block look – have no fear, each one has a distressed version; renders of the original blocks with all the imperfections.

Some really cool stuff, and I love these type projects that keep popping up, like the wonderful Lost-Type Co-Op. If designers keep supporting great projects like these, things are only going to get better and better. I can’t wait to start using these!
