We’re very excited to announce the launch of the new Mary’s Place website, which went live last Friday, May 11, 2012. As a non-profit homeless resource center for women, the new site embodies the Mary’s Place mission of empowering and equipping women with the tools to move out of homelessness.
Mary’s Place approached us in summer of 2011 to revamp their branding identity, including a new compelling content strategy, logo and website. In order to effectively translate the brand’s redesign, we went back to the foundational roots of what Mary’s Place stands for and why they exist: making a long-lasting difference in the lives of real, unabashed homeless women. As the project unfolded, the emotional driver behind the Mary’s Place website was the candid portraits and self-authored stories provided by the women in need.
To amplify these emotional ties and ensure each visitor to the Mary’s Place website had a memorable experience, we highlighted the “Women’s Stories” page, which serves as an online social community for women to share their trials with homelessness. All photos were taken by our team, and are of real Mary’s Place women, children and employees. (No stock photos were used!)
We also built a custom donation page that allows visitors to donate one time, or schedule recurring payments monthly and/or annually. All donations help Mary’s Place maintain their programs and services, which range from basic needs such as hygiene, shelter, food, and clothing to access to support groups and resources to find employment, housing, medical and more. Needless to say, all donations make a critical difference in the lives of the women at Mary’s Place.
We’re very humbled to work with Mary’s Place, the only service center in King County that welcomes women and their children, and proud to sponsor an organization that’s actively spreading awareness about internationally conscious issues, such as homelessness for women and their children.
Mary’s Place will be hosting their annual spring luncheon to meet the women and share in the success of the non-profit this Wednesday, May 16, at Fisher Pavilion. Our team will be speaking about the website launch during the luncheon, as well!
