Behold, space! Enjoy absolutely stunning images of the universe with the new iPhone/iPad app ‘Sky Survey’. This amazing and interactive app will help you locate stars, constellations and galaxies–especially handy when living under these cloudy skies. You can also locate planets and check out the current moon phase.

The app was created by photographer/designer Nick Risinger, based on his Photopic Sky Survey photographic work, a year-long 5,000 megapixel/60,000 mile panorama project completed in 2011. I’m not quite sold on the overall UI, but the fantastic imagery majorly outweighs that minor concern.
