It’s almost summer, and that means it’s high time for some new found accessories.

These items have caught my eye of late and I feel they’d all work real fine for the summertime. See below for some additional notes and backstory.

Summer Collage

A. Scout Single Pole Tent – Who needs a fancy high-tech tent when you can own this superb tent and pitch it the ol’ fashion way? Simple parts equal simple results. Plus, it’s made from canvas, allowing it to breathe and also provide a barrier from rain, wind and snow.

B. Nike Air Max I – I can’t go many posts without featuring any Nike shoes now can I? This classic kick gets a simple, solid colorway and the result looks very good. And that hit of orange at the toe is really sharp.

C. Almond X Shakastics Skateboard – Although I’m not much of a skater, I can appreciate a good looking board when I see one; this one from Almond fits the bill easily. I really like the reserved graphic treatment, it really lets the woodgrain shine through.

D. Junip S/T – The newest offering from the José Gonzalez-fronted Swedish folk band has been on my playlist daily these days. They make some beautifully simplistic, mood building tunes—backed by rolling drum beats and great percussion details. Highlights for me include ‘Beginnings’, ‘Walking Lightly’, ‘Line of Fire’ and ‘So Clear’.

E. Hard Graft Carry On Suitcase – Well, they’ve done it yet again—The fine folks at Hard Graft needed some travel gear when the two got hitched earlier this year and they loved the suitcases so much they’ve decided to make some for the rest of us. Lucky us—this suitcase is really amazing. All the attention to detail is just wonderful and the materials used are just plain wrong, but the complete opposite of what wrong is.

F. Classic Flyfishing Patterns Poster – This wonderfully illustrated fly-fishing pattern poster looks so timeless in design—I feel I could just stare at it for hours. I think I should go out fishing more often—my dad has taken me out in the past and it really is an art form I’d love to develop a relationship with. Although, come to think of it, I think I would have to have my own gear, to make me most comfortable. Maybe I’ll just stick with the poster for now.

G. Izola Bar Soap – Authentic soap, 18th century style. A simple soap, made with vegetable oils, cocoa and shea butter, free of animal testing, apart from the buffalo featured on the package. Live free folks.

H. Viks, Velonia Bicycles – This seat tube-less bike frame seems to defy gravity and is a fresh new approach to traditional bike frame design. It takes its inspiration from the café-racer style motorcycles. Two stainless steel tubes run alongside each other, freeing up the middle area, creating something new and very unique.

I. Seamless & Steadfast Enamel Steel Cups – Best Made Company has produced the best enamel steel cups on the planet. Utilizing World War II machinery, the ‘X’ and type is baked directly onto the cup for a long-lasting and seamless finish. It also features a double-dipping of enamel at the handle and cup rim to last longer than you will.
