It’s Monday here at UI headquarters and while the day is a bit overcast, our spirits are anything but!
We have had a lot of growth recently – new clients, new employees -and all this fresh blood is heating things up. Today, I want to take a moment to introduce Chris Comis. Chris is our new project manager and is in charge of grabbing the bull by the horns and leading him in the right direction.
Here is a little bit about Chris in his words.
Where are you from?
Jersey boy, born and bred with a couple years in Holland. Spent my adult life in SF, DC & as a ski bum in Rockies and New England
Where have you worked in the past and what did you do?
Rather than having a career path I’ve had a career meander. I’ve been drawn to companies which have a product or service I’m passionate about. These include art/design, food/wine and skiing.
My PM experience comes from small to medium size interactive agencies and client-side work for interior design firms and luxury retail.
I love food and wine and that passion has translated to handy side career when I want to travel or go to school.
What do you love most about being a project manager?
It reminds me of my childhood spending summers on my family’s 100,000 acre free-range cat ranch in northern Manitoba.
Actually, it’s the opportunity to learn from and interact with people with deep expertise in their field — designer, developer, entrepreneur, lawyer, accountant or marketing pro. The constant mental stimulation is great and the varying personalities keeps me on my toes.
What’s your favorite food?
Pasta carbonara
What do you like to do on the weekends?
Dinner with family/friends, Cinerama, PNW Ballet Co., skiing (next winter? hopefully?)
Favorite vacation you ever took and why?
Paris with a good friend. Wandering the streets, getting to know the people in the neighborhood. Started to feel like a local after just a few days.
If you could have a super power what would it be?
A great singing voice; not really a super power but similarly unattainable.
